MI Practice Tip:  Engagement

March 20, 2015 by Dr. Ellen

Learning pic (3)The basic process of MI, engagement,is the foundation of your relationship with your client, and all that builds on it.  To be an effective agent of change, the practitioner must demonstrate engagement at every opportunity, by letting the client know that they are listening and understand the meaning of the proposed change to the client.  When people feel heard and understood, they are much more likely to actually change.   There’s something about being heard and seen for who you are, that actually makes change possible.

Contact me directly  ellen@trainingwithellen.com . I’d love to hear if you have been able to put any of my MI Tips into practice. We may feature you and your business in my newsletter.
