It’s really a drag (literally) when the technology doesn’t work smoothly during a training. The laptop has to connect and work well with the projector or TV, the videos have to play smoothly with sound, and all the materials trainees need to practice Motivational Interviewing need to be available.
Yesterday’s training in Braintree, MA was a struggle! Much of the above didn’t work smoothly, and I felt frustrated. It’s really hard to be thinking on my feet, staying tuned in to participants’ needs and moving the training along when I’m worried about machines!!
Still, all went well. My training was very well received. It’s gratifying to have such responsive participants who really warm to the MI ideas, which mean so much to me both personally and professionally.
